Yadh Ben Achour is a Tunisian jurist and expert in public law and Islamic political theory who served as Dean of the Faculty of Legal, Political and Social Sciences at the University of Carthage from 1993 to 1999 and as a member of Tunisia Constitutional Council, resigning in 1992 over concerns about governmental control of civil society. He chaired Tunisia Higher Political Reform Commission from 2011 and was elected to the United Nations Human Rights Committee in 2012.
