Sir William Hankford, who lived from around 1350 until 1423, was an English legal official from Devon who served as Chief Justice of the King's Bench from 1413 to 1423 under Henry V and then Henry VI. Earlier in his career he served briefly as Lord Chief Justice of Ireland from 1395 to 1396. A landowner and benefactor of religious institutions in Devon, he died on 12 December 1423 and was buried at Monkleigh church, which he had substantially rebuilt.
