Vishweshwar Nath Khare (born 1939) was the thirty-third Chief Justice of India, serving from December 2002 to May 2004. Born in Allahabad and educated at St. Joseph's College and Allahabad University, he began practicing as an advocate at the Allahabad High Court in 1961, became a judge there in 1983, Chief Justice of the Calcutta High Court in 1996, and a judge of the Supreme Court of India in 1997. His tenure as Chief Justice was marked by efforts to reopen the Best Bakery case following the post-Godhra riots in Gujarat, and he received the Padma Vibhushan in 2006.

Vishweshwar Nath Khare is a retired Indian judge who served as the 33rd Chief Justice of India, from 19 December 2002 to 1 May 2004. He also served as the Chancellor of the Central University of Jharkhand from 2017 to 2023. He was a judge of the Supreme Court of India from 21 March 1997 before he was elevated to the post of Chief Justice.
