Ubayd Allah ibn al-Hasan ibn al-Husayn al-Anbari, known as Ubayd Allah al-Anbari, was an Arab jurist, poet, lexicographer, and genealogist who also served as a governor under the Abbasid Caliphate. He is especially remembered for coining the widely repeated legal maxim kullu mujtahid musib, meaning roughly that every earnest exercise of independent legal interpretation results in an acceptable conclusion.
