Thibaudeau Rinfret was a Canadian jurist who served as Canada's ninth Chief Justice from 8 January 1944 to 22 June 1954, after having sat as a puisne justice of the Supreme Court of Canada since 1924. Born on 22 June 1879, he was called to the Bar of Quebec in 1901, taught comparative law and public utilities at McGill University, and was appointed to the Quebec Superior Court in 1922; during his tenure as Chief Justice, Canada ended appeals to the Judicial Committee of the Privy Council, making the Supreme Court the final court of appeal in Canadian law. He died on 25 July 1962.
