Taskoprulzade, also known as Taskoprulizade Ahmed, was an Ottoman scholar and judge who lived from 3 December 1495 to 16 April 1561. He taught at madrasahs in Dimetoka, Istanbul, Skopje and Edirne before being appointed qadi, or judge, of Bursa in 1545 and then of Istanbul in 1551, and he retired from public service in 1554 after developing a vision problem. He is best known for his biographical encyclopedia al-Shaqa'iq al-Nu'maniyya, covering 552 Ottoman scholars and religious leaders from the founding of the empire through the reign of Suleiman the Magnificent, which became a primary source for the intellectual history of the Ottoman Empire.
