Suzanne Basdevant Bastid was a French professor of law who specialized in international public law and lived from 1906 to 1995. She was for thirty years a professor at the Faculty of Law of Paris and served as a judge of the International Court of Justice. She was the first woman to become a professor of law in France and the first woman to be a member of the Institut de France, the country's most prestigious learned society.
