Roman Rudenko (1907-1981) was a Soviet lawyer and state prosecutor. He served as Procurator-General of the Ukrainian Soviet Socialist Republic from 1944 to 1953 and then as Procurator-General of the Soviet Union from 1953 to 1981. He is known internationally as the chief Soviet prosecutor at the 1946 Nuremberg trial of the major Nazi war criminals, and he had earlier served as chief prosecutor at the 1945 Trial of the Sixteen in Moscow against leaders of the Polish Underground.
