Which thinkers shaped Antonio Pigliaru's legal philosophy?
Gentile first, then Capograssi's personalism and Santi Romano's legal pluralism.
Pigliaru began with the philosophy of Giovanni Gentile and then leaned toward the historicist personalism of Giuseppe Capograssi. He re-read Capograssi's theories in his own way, especially through Santi Romano's theory of the plurality of legal orders, which he applied in his essay on the Barbaricina vendetta as a legal order. He later turned to Gramscian Marxism, notably in his essay on structure, superstructure and the struggle for law.
