Did Judge Ignacio-Pinto agree with the International Court of Justice in the Western Sahara advisory opinion?
He joined the 1975 Western Sahara opinion only in part and said so in a declaration.
Only in part. In a declaration attached to the Court's advisory opinion of 16 October 1975 on Western Sahara, he wrote that he had been able to subscribe only in part to the Opinion, and only because of the Court's conclusion in the final paragraph of its reasoning, paragraph 162. His own declaration therefore records a qualified position rather than full agreement with the majority.
