Rogerius was a twelfth century jurist and glossator of Roman law connected with the law school of Bologna, where he is thought to have taught around 1150 before moving to teach law at Montpellier around 1160; he died around 1162. He wrote commentaries on Justinian's Institutes and Code, the Quaestiones super Institutis and the Enodationes quaestionum super Codice, and a Summa Codicis, and he is considered a possible author of the Summa Trecensis. His teaching and glosses carried the Bolognese method of Roman law study into southern France and helped make Montpellier an early center of legal education there.
