Sir Robert Parning, who died 26 August 1343, was an English lawyer and administrator who held several of the highest offices under Edward III, serving as Lord Chief Justice of England from 1340 to 1341, Lord High Treasurer from January to October 1341, and Lord Chancellor from 1341 until his death in 1343. He represented Cumberland as a knight of the shire in Parliament five times between 1325 and 1332, became a serjeant at law in 1329, and served as King's Serjeant from 1333 to 1339 before entering the judiciary. He was knighted in 1340, and on his death without sons his inheritance passed to his two sisters.
