Philippe Bas, born July 20, 1958, is a French politician who has served as a member of the Constitutional Council since March 8, 2025, appointed by Senate President Gerard Larcher. He served as chief of staff to President Jacques Chirac from 2002 to 2005 and as a Senator for Manche from 2011 to 2025, chairing the Senate law commission from 2014 and leading its investigation into the Benalla affair in 2018 and 2019.
