Paul Koschaker (1879 to 1951) was an Austrian legal historian who founded the modern study of ancient oriental legal history and cuneiform law. He held professorships at Leipzig, Berlin and Tubingen, and in his 1947 work Europa und das romische Recht he traced the influence of Hellenistic legal concepts on Roman law and examined Roman law lasting legacy across Europe.
