Owen Dixon (1886-1972) was an Australian jurist who served as the sixth Chief Justice of Australia from 1952 to 1964 and is widely regarded as Australia most influential jurist and one of the leading common law judges of his era, with his tenure often described as the High Court golden age for its intellectual leadership and its many closely reasoned joint judgments.
