Nani Palkhivala (1920-2002) was an Indian lawyer and jurist who argued landmark constitutional cases before the Supreme Court of India, including Kesavananda Bharati v State of Kerala, I. C. Golaknath v State of Punjab and Minerva Mills v Union of India, and who championed liberal economic policy and individual rights; he also served as India ambassador to the United States from 1977 to 1979.
