Nancy Julieta Hernandez Lopez is a Costa Rican jurist born October 28, 1963, in San Jose. She has served as a judge of the Inter-American Court of Human Rights representing Costa Rica since 2022, and held the court's presidency from 2024 to 2025. She previously served as a constitutional judge on Costa Rica's Supreme Court of Justice from 2013 to 2021, following twenty five years as a legal adviser to that court's Constitutional Chamber. She holds a law degree from the Escuela Libre de Derecho and has taught human rights and constitutional law at the University of Costa Rica since 2010.
