Muhammad ibn Rushayd, full name Muhibb al-Din Abu Abdallah Muhammad ibn Umar ibn Rushayd al-Fihri al-Sabti, was a Moroccan judge, writer and scholar of hadith, born in Ceuta. After traveling east to perform the hajj and study, he was invited to Granada by the vizier Ibn al-Hakim al-Rundi and was appointed an imam and then a judge there. Following the viziers assassination he returned to Morocco, where he served as imam in Marrakesh and later as a close advisor to the Marinid sultan Abu Said Uthman II, leaving writings on hadith, literature and his own travels.
