Muhammad bin Dawud al-Zahiri, in full Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Dawud al-Zahiri, was a medieval theologian and scholar of the Arabic language and Islamic law who lived from about 868 to 909. He was one of the early propagators of the Zahiri method of jurisprudence founded by his father, Dawud al-Zahiri, a distinct and separate jurist.
