Modibo Sacko is a Malian jurist who holds a master's degree in law from the Faculty of Legal and Political Sciences of Mali, further degrees from Ahmed Baba University in Mali and from universities in France, and two doctoral theses, one on the repression of human rights violations in wartime Mali and one on financial intelligence against money laundering and terrorism financing. He is a judge of the Supreme Court of Mali and was elected a judge of the African Court on Human and Peoples' Rights in February 2021, serving as the court's Vice President from 2023 and, from June 2025, as its President. He also lectures on human rights and international criminal law at several Malian universities and military academies.
