Max von Rumelin was a German jurist, born in 1861 in Stuttgart and died in 1931 in Tubingen. He held professorships in jurisprudence, Roman law and civil procedure at Halle before moving to Tubingen, where he served as rector from 1906 to 1907 and as chancellor of the university from 1908 until his death. Working alongside Philipp Heck, he helped establish Interessenjurisprudenz, the jurisprudence of interests, at Tubingen, an approach that shaped later German and Swiss legal thought.
