Maria Ulfah Soebadio Sastrosatomo, known professionally as Maria Ulfah Santoso and who lived from August 18, 1911, to April 15, 1988, was an Indonesian advocate for women's rights and politician who became the first Indonesian woman to earn a law degree and the first woman to serve in an Indonesian cabinet. She earned her law degree from Leiden University in 1933, joined the Indonesian nationalist movement while studying in the Netherlands, and after returning to the Dutch East Indies worked as an educator and campaigned for reform of marriage law to strengthen women's protections. She took part in the Committee for Preparatory Work for Indonesian Independence and served as Minister of Social Affairs under Prime Minister Sutan Sjahrir from March 1946 to June 1947, remaining active in government roles afterward.
