Lucius Octavius Balbus was a Roman jurist of the 1st century BC and a contemporary of Cicero, noted for his expertise in Roman law and for a personal commitment to justice, morality and religion. He died in 42 BC during the proscriptions carried out under the Second Triumvirate.
