Lucas de Penna

Lucas de Penna was an Italian jurist from Naples born around 1325 who died around 1390. He served as a jurist and judge at the Magna Curia in Naples during the fourteenth century, and is primarily remembered for his scholarly legal work, the Commentaria in tres libros Codicis Justiniani imperatoris, an analysis of portions of the Code of Justinian printed in 1512. He also authored a Summaria examining the classical Roman writer Valerius Maximus, and his legal scholarship made him a notable figure in fourteenth century medieval jurisprudence.
