Lucas Cornelius Steyn (21 December 1903 to 28 July 1976) was a South African judge who served as the twelfth Chief Justice of South Africa from 1959 to 1971. Born in the Orange River Colony, he acted as Governor-General of South Africa on two occasions during his twelve-year tenure as Chief Justice, and his jurisprudence was noted for an executive-minded approach and skepticism toward English legal influences on South African law.
