Lech Garlicki is a Polish constitutional law specialist born in Warsaw in 1946. He served as a judge on Poland Constitutional Tribunal from 1993 to 2001 and as a judge of the European Court of Human Rights from 2002 to 2012, and he is a founding member of the European Law Institute. His scholarship and judicial work have centered on constitutional law and human rights protection in Europe.
