Lado Chanturia is a Georgian jurist who served as Georgia's Minister of Justice and as President of the Supreme Court of Georgia, and who is regarded as one of the founding figures of modern Georgian law for his role in creating the Georgian Civil Code. He later served as Georgia's Ambassador to Germany before his election as Georgia's judge at the European Court of Human Rights, taking office on 8 January 2018; he became Vice-President of the Court's Fifth Section on 23 May 2023 and was elected President of a Section of the Court in 2024.
