Kurt Fluri, born August 1955 in Solothurn, is a Swiss politician of the FDP.The Liberals party and a member of the National Council of Switzerland. He studied law at the University of Bern and the University of Basel, and became a lawyer and notary of the canton of Solothurn after nine years as a lawyer. He was elected to the Municipal Council of Solothurn in 1985 and to the cantonal parliament of Solothurn in 1989, chaired the FDP group from 1999 to 2003, and served as mayor of Solothurn from 1993 to 2021. After his election to the National Council in 2003 he gave up his cantonal parliament seat, and remains active on the National Council's Commission for Legal Affairs.
