Kitili Maluki Mwendwa was a Kenyan judge who served as the second Chief Justice of Kenya from 1968 to 1971, becoming the first African to hold that office after independence. Born in Kitui in 1929, he died on 27 September 1985. His appointment marked a significant transition in the Kenyan judiciary from the colonial era to indigenous leadership of the courts.
