Kenneth Benjamin (judge)

Kenneth Andrew Charles Benjamin is a Caribbean jurist born on 19 March 1955 in Georgetown, Guyana, holding dual Guyanese and Antiguan and Barbudan nationality. He earned his law degree from the Hugh Wooding Law School at the University of the West Indies in Trinidad and Tobago in 1977 and began his career as a magistrate in Georgetown before serving as Chief Magistrate of Antigua from 1991 to 1993. He then served as a High Court judge of the Eastern Caribbean Supreme Court, sitting in Montserrat, the British Virgin Islands, Grenada and St Lucia, before his appointment as the tenth Chief Justice of Belize, a post he held from 15 September 2011 until his mandatory retirement on 20 March 2020.
