Kalyan Shrestha served as Chief Justice of Nepal from July 2015 to April 2016, appointed by Nepal's Constitutional Council to succeed Ram Kumar Prasad Shah and himself succeeded by Sushila Karki. Born in April 1951 in Nepal's Baglung District, he made judicial appointments an early stated priority of his brief tenure as Chief Justice.
