Joseph Halevi Horowitz Weiler, born in 1951, is an international and European Union law scholar who holds the European Union Jean Monnet Chair at New York University School of Law. He led the European University Institute in Florence from 2013 to 2016, having earlier held the Manley Hudson Professorship and Jean Monnet Chair at Harvard Law School from 1992 to 2001 and taught at the University of Michigan Law School and the European University Institute. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Arts and Sciences and received the Ratzinger Prize from Pope Francis in 2022.
