Sir Johannes John Wilhelmus Wessels (1862 to 1936) was a South African judge who served as the fifth Chief Justice of South Africa from 1932 to 1936. He was a judge of the Appellate Division from 1923 until his elevation to Chief Justice. Before his judicial career he was a barrister who defended major mining interests and prominent political figures, including in cases connected to the Jameson Raid, and he served during the Second Boer War.
