John Leslie Toohey (1930 to 2015) was an Australian jurist who served as a Justice of the High Court of Australia from 1987 to 1998, nominated by Prime Minister Bob Hawke to succeed Justice Lionel Murphy. He had earlier been the inaugural Aboriginal Land Commissioner from 1977 to 1982, presiding over claims under the Aboriginal Land Rights Act.
