Sir John Knyvet, who died 16 February 1381, was a medieval English legal administrator who served as Chief Justice of the King's Bench from 1365 to 1372 and then as Lord Chancellor of England from 1372 to 1377. The eldest son of Richard Knyvet of Southwick in Northamptonshire, he began practicing in the courts by 1347 and rose through a series of legal appointments before reaching the highest offices of the realm. He also took part in parliamentary business and served on the royal council under Edward III and Richard II.
