Jeremy Waldron (born 1953) is a New Zealand-born legal and political philosopher regarded as one of the leading figures in normative jurisprudence, whose work addresses property rights, legislation, human dignity and equality. His books include The Right to Private Property (1988), Law and Disagreement (1999), The Harm in Hate Speech (2012) and One Another's Equals (2017); he holds a University Professorship at New York University School of Law and formerly held the Chichele Professorship of Social and Political Theory at Oxford.
