Jacobus de Belviso was an Italian jurist and academic born around 1270 who died in 1335. He taught canon law at several Italian universities, including Bologna, Naples, Padua, Siena and Perugia, during the late thirteenth and early fourteenth centuries. His later reputation rested largely on a criminal law treatise, Practica criminalis, printed under his name in 1515, though scholarly consensus has since shifted and that work is no longer believed to be genuinely his.
