Ibn Jalal al-Tilimsani was a Muslim scholar born in Tlemcen around 1502 or 1503 who died in Fez around 1573 or 1574. Renowned for his expertise in both the religious and secular sciences, he served as a mufti in Tlemcen before relocating to Fez amid the city's political instability, a move also encouraged by the Saadian dynasty, who valued his knowledge and sought his presence.
