Abu al-Hasan Ali ibn Khalaf al-Bakri al-Qurtubi al-Maliki, known as Ibn Battal, was an Andalusian Islamic scholar who died in 1057, remembered chiefly for his expertise in hadith and Islamic jurisprudence. His commentary, Sharh Ibn Battal, is a classic exposition of Sahih al-Bukhari, the first of the Six Books of Sunni hadith.
