Ibn al-Mundhir, in full Abu Bakr Muhammad ibn Ibrahim ibn al-Mundhir al-Naysaburi, was a ninth and tenth century Islamic jurist and legal scholar of the Shafii school. A student of al-Rabi ibn Sulayman, himself a direct student of al-Shafii, Ibn al-Mundhir reached the level of ijtihad but with little exception followed al-Shafiis own legal opinions; he was born in Nishapur and died in Mecca.
