Hermann Mosler, who lived from December 26, 1912, to December 4, 2001, was a German legal academic and judge who earned his doctorate in law from the University of Bonn in 1934. He directed the Max Planck Institute for Comparative Public Law and International Law in Heidelberg, and served as a judge of the European Court of Human Rights from 1959 to 1980. He was elected a judge of the International Court of Justice and served from 1976 to 1985.
