Henning Voscherau (13 August 1941 to 24 August 2016) was a German lawyer and politician of the Social Democratic Party. After earning a law and economics degree from the University of Hamburg in 1969, he worked as a notary in Hamburg from 1974, a role he returned to after his political career, and he served as First Mayor of Hamburg from 1988 to 1997 and as President of the German Bundesrat in 1990 and 1991.
