Sir Hayden Erskine Starke (1871 to 1958) was an Australian jurist who served as a Justice of the High Court of Australia from 1920 to 1950. Before his judicial appointment he was a prominent Melbourne barrister who appeared before the High Court 211 times, more often than any other lawyer of his era, and on the bench he became known for an independent temperament and a readiness to dissent from the majority.
