Georg Bissmark was a Swedish jurist and politician of German descent who lived from 1871 to 1941. He earned a law degree from Uppsala University in 1895, worked at various courts, and settled in Halmstad in 1898, where he held a series of legal posts before serving as the city mayor from 1918 to 1938. He sat in the Riksdag from 1927 to 1934 and served as Minister of Justice of Sweden from 1928 to 1930 under Prime Minister Arvid Lindman, and in 1930 he chaired a committee reviewing the operating procedures of the Riksdag itself. A member of the conservative National Party, he was born in Halmstad and died there in December 1941 at the age of seventy.
