Garfield Barwick (1903-1997) was an Australian lawyer and politician who served as Attorney-General of Australia from 1958 to 1964 and as Minister for External Affairs from 1961 to 1964 before becoming the seventh and longest-serving Chief Justice of Australia, holding that office from 1964 to 1981 and presiding over major constitutional decisions on the corporations power and parliamentary representation.
