Friedrich Karl von Strombeck

Friedrich Karl von Strombeck was a German jurist who held a series of senior judicial and administrative posts in north German states during and after the Napoleonic era, becoming an assessor at the Hofgericht in Wolfenbuttel in 1797, president of the court in Einbeck in 1808, and president of the Appellationshof in Celle in 1810. He sat as a member of the Reichsstande, the parliament of the Napoleonic Kingdom of Westphalia, and was later made a Geheimer Justizrat at the Oberappellationsgericht in Wolfenbuttel in 1816. He is remembered as a judicial administrator of the Napoleonic-era Justizwesen im Konigreich Westphalen and was elected to the Academy of Sciences at Gottingen in 1812 for his scholarly work, which also extended into geology.
