Frederic Mourlon (1811-1866) was a French jurist from Chambon-sur-Voueize whose republican convictions led to his expulsion from school in 1825 for displaying a tricolor flag and to his participation in the 1830 uprising near the Louvre. After earning his law doctorate in 1841 he became known for his Repetitions ecrites sur le Code civil, a widely used exposition of the general principles of the Civil Code.
