M. Fathima Beevi (30 April 1927 to 23 November 2023) was an Indian jurist who in 1989 became the first woman appointed to the Supreme Court of India and the first Muslim woman appointed to any higher judiciary in the country, serving until 1992. She began her legal career as an advocate in 1950 and rose through Kerala subordinate judiciary before serving as a judge of the Kerala High Court from 1983 to 1989. After her Supreme Court tenure she served as a member of the National Human Rights Commission from 1993 to 1997 and as Governor of Tamil Nadu from 1997 to 2001, the eleventh person to hold that office.
