Erkki Kourula, born 12 June 1948 in Lappee, Finland, is a Finnish judge who earned a law degree from the University of Helsinki and a doctorate in international law from Oxford, became a judge of first instance in Finland in 1979, and taught international law at the University of Lapland from 1982 to 1983 before holding government legal posts including director-general of legal affairs. He headed the Finnish delegation at the Rome Conference that established the International Criminal Court, and became the first Finn elected to the Court, serving from 11 March 2003 to 10 March 2015 on an initial three-year term followed by a nine-year re-election in 2006, sitting on the Appeals Division as a List B judge. He has served as Finland's ambassador to the Council of Europe and, since 2019, as vice-president of the OSCE Court of Conciliation and Arbitration.
