David Kenani Maraga, born 12 January 1951 in Bonyamatuta in the South Nyanza District of Nyanza Province, Kenya, is a Kenyan lawyer and jurist who served as the 14th Chief Justice and President of the Supreme Court of Kenya from 19 October 2016 to 12 January 2021. He was appointed by President Uhuru Kenyatta on the nomination of the Judicial Service Commission, succeeded Willy Mutunga, and was succeeded by Martha Koome. He holds a Bachelor of Laws and a Master of Laws, both from the University of Nairobi.
